The queues are well worth the wait at the very popular, Breakfast Club in Angel. Once you have developed a monstrous appetite after waiting outside and settling into a cosy table inside the homely café (think Polaroid covered walls and rustic kitchenware), you can set your eyes upon a menu with lots of variety.
Deliberate over the classic big breakfasts, brunch sandwiches, eggs or pancakes. The stack of pancakes (unfortunately) heading to another table, looked like a stack of fluffy goodness resting in a puddle of golden maple syrup, with mixed fresh berries sprinkled around the plate – heavenly! My next visit will be specifically for these. This time around, the classic Eggs Benedict stole my heart.
The Benedict are delicious, well-poached eggs with the right amount of oozing yolk. The creamy hollandaise sauce, very light and perfect amount of zing drizzled over the eggs with fresh ham hock on a toasted English muffin.

Feeling nostalgic, I ordered a Vanilla Thick Shake to accompany my breakfast; it was just how the gods of thick shakes intended! Plenty of vanilla and so much ice cream, sucking through the straw became a challenge; there is no better way to end breakfast!
Overall, despite the wait for a table and the fast pace vibe inside the café, a good breakfast experience. Prices are aligned with similar cafes, It’s definitely a place where I’ll go back to try out more of the menu; the Pancakes next (heavy breathing). 7/10.
Tip: We arrived at 12pm and waited around 25 minutes for seating, head there earlier in the morning to avoid the lines.
